The Early Years

There I met Swami Shankardasji, the beloved disciple who has spent most of his life in devoted service to his guru, and who remains in constant service as caretaker of the ashram. I introduced myself and explained how my visit with Tat Wale Baba years ago had made a profound impression on me. I asked the Swami if I could interview him since I was anxious to hear every detail of Tat Wale Baba's life. Swami Shankardasji complied. Since there were no other visitors present it was an opportune time for us to chat. Swami began by explaining that because of Tat Wale Baba's reclusive nature, and reluctance to talk about himself, little is known about his past. Swami Shankardasji shared the following sketchy information with me.

Da keine anderen Besucher da waren, war es eine gute Gelegenheit für uns zu reden. Der Swami begann zu erklären, daß aufgrund Tat Wale Baba zurückgezogener Natur und seiner Weigerung viel über sich zu erzählen, wenig über seine Vergangenheit bekannt ist.
